PG&E Thanks Meriwest Credit Union For Being A Partner In Conserving Energy

SAN JOSE, CA, September 14, 2006 -- Meriwest Credit Union, one of Silicon Valley's largest financial institutions, was appreciated by Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) as one of the many corporations who contributed in conserving energy during a heat wave in a recent 2-page advertisement report. Bruce Richter, Business Services Director, says there are ways to save energy in order to prevent such power outages. One way that Bruce has helped the Credit Union conserve energy is by installing motion detectors in most of the departments at the corporate headquarters that automatically turn off lights when no one is around.
"Installing the motion detectors is one way in helping to save energy, but there are several other ways. For example, I have also installed a 'Cool Roof', as well as a solar reflective window tint on the south, east, and west side facing windows to reflect away heat," said Mr. Richter.
As you can see, Meriwest is an energy conscious credit union and has taken crucial steps in becoming this way. The Credit Union cares about the well-being of their members, as well as the community who lives around them. The goal of the Credit Union is to continue to conserve energy for years to come.
