Meriwest and Career Closet Complete the First Set of Financial Fitness Classes

SAN JOSE, CA - Meriwest Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions serving Silicon Valley, the Greater Bay Area and Tucson, Arizona, announced today that they have completed the first series of financial education classes with Career Closet, a volunteer-based organization that provides business attire and wardrobe consulting services to local women seeking employment. Women completing the three modules; Personal Budgets, Checking in the 21st Century, and Credit Myths and Repair were awarded with certificates of completion. Due to the overwhelming success by the participants and their additional interest in financial education, the participants requested an additional fourth evening class on the economy and investment that was added to the curriculum.
"As a women's career wardrobe provider and consulting agency, our job is to create that link between training and resumes and getting the career of their dreams," said Jean Cecil, Executive Director of Career Closet. "Through these Financial Fitness classes, our clients learn what it means to be independent and in control of your own financial destiny. Thanks go to Meriwest for creating a curriculum to which our clients could directly relate and immediately utilize in their lives."
