Meriwest Credit Union Announces Call for Entries for its 2008 Annual Holiday Art Contest for Children

SAN JOSE, CA - Meriwest Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions serving Silicon Valley, the San Francisco Bay Area and Tucson, Arizona, is kicking off its Seventh Annual Holiday Art Contest for children. The contest is open to our young members, who live, attend school, or work in Santa Clara, San Mateo, Alameda, Contra Costa or San Francisco counties, or in Pima County, Arizona.
The Annual Holiday Art Contest awards cash prizes to the top three finishers in two age groups: Ages 3-10 and Ages 11-17. One of the first-place winners will have their artwork featured on the cover of Meriwest's 2008 holiday cards.
To enter the contest, participants must create a winter scene on a sheet of 8½" x 11" paper using a variety of media (pencil drawing, crayons, painting, computer graphics, etc.). A panel of judges from the Credit Union will evaluate each entry based on imagination, creativity and execution. Your child must be a member of Meriwest Credit Union at the time of their entry in the contest. To find out more details about the contest, go to www.meriwest.com/holidaycontest.
If your child is not a member but wishes to participate in our contest, you can go online and easily open a new membership for them. The deadline to submit artwork is Wednesday, October 31, 2008. Winners will be announced no later than November 15, 2008.
