Support for Members Impacted by the Northern California Fires
We want you to know that if you become impacted by the Dixie, Caldor, or other California fires, you should contact us at 877-637-4937 to explore the financial assistance we stand ready to provide:
- EARLY WITHDRAWAL FROM TERM PRODUCTS:
For impacted members with funds currently in any term account (Share Certificate), Meriwest will allow for withdrawals and waive the early withdrawal penalty.
- ASSISTANCE LOANS:
We are offering a loan for assistance in this time of need. Please call our Customer Contact Center at 877-637-4937 and one of our Financial Services Representatives will assist you.
- LOAN EXTENSIONS:
We can work with you on an extension of a current loan.1
- ASSISTANCE FOR MERIWEST MORTGAGE MEMBERS:
If you have a Meriwest Mortgage and have been affected by the current fires, assistance is available through the Disaster Recovery Team at 866-430-9685. The team is trained in disaster response and will assist you in any way they can; from offering guidance on missed or late mortgage payments to helping you through the claims process and moving forward with repairs. You can begin your claim process by contacting the Insurance Processing Center at 866-222-8118. They will ensure you receive the information you need to process your claim quickly. Of course, the other financial assistance in this list is also available.
- SKIP-A-PAY FEE WAIVER:
For current loans that are eligible, impacted members can request a skipped payment on the loan WITHOUT the usual fee.2
- NON-SUFFICIENT FUNDS (NSF) AND OVERDRAFT FEES:
Meriwest will refund NSF and overdraft fees upon request for impacted members – maximum of five.
- MERIWEST CREDIT CARDHOLDERS:
Please contact Cardmember Services directly at the number on the back of your card for up-to-date information on assistance that may be available to you.

1: You must have made at least 3 consecutive payments on your existing Meriwest loan to be considered for an extension. Your Meriwest loan(s) must not be 30-days delinquent or more at any time during the extension review process or your request will be declined. If you have an interest-only loan, we cannot grant any extensions.
2: Skip-a-Pay does not apply to first mortgages, home equity loans or lines of credit. Finance charges will continue to accrue on your loan account(s) during the month you skip your payment. Your regularly scheduled payment will resume the month after your skipped payment. Membership must be in good standing. All loans must be current in order to be eligible for skipping a payment. Loan must be at least six (6) months old and have been in good standing for the previous six (6) months. You must meet all Meriwest qualifications. Other restrictions may apply.
