Meriwest is offering Interest on Lawyer Trust Accounts (IOLTA) as a method for lawyers to raise money for charitable purposes, primarily the provision of civil legal services to those in need. Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts (IOLTA) is a unique and innovative way to increase access to justice for individuals and families living in poverty and to improve our justice system. Without taxing the public, and at no cost to lawyers or their clients, interest from lawyer trust accounts is pooled to provide civil legal aid to those who cannot afford it and support improvements to the justice system.
- Minimum opening balance is $50
- No monthly service fee
- Pays dividends ($100 minimum to earn dividends)
- Transaction activity
- Unlimited free check writing
- Unlimited checks deposited
- Unlimited free wire transfers (domestic)
