Meriwest Inclusion Statement
At Meriwest Credit Union, we believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion, separately and collectively, drives value for our team, our members, and our communities. We are a resilient team by welcoming diverse perspectives, experiences, and approaches. We believe that these are the core elements of a stronger, smarter, and more informed financial institution.
We believe that each of us is enhanced because of the unique and diverse identity we each bring to work. This inclusive environment allows us to leverage the unique perspectives that shape us as a team of highly regarded financial services professionals. We are fully committed to a nondiscriminatory approach to providing equal opportunity employment, advancement, and equitable treatment of our members. We also believe that diversity among human characteristics alone is just the beginning. We are also invested in diversity of thought and the representation of the communities we serve. These unique perspectives contribute to the development of our products and services that meet diverse members’ needs.
We strive to create an environment where employees are valued, empowered to positively support our members, and recognized for their contributions. We believe that building a truly inclusive culture is essential, allowing all our employees to bring their authentic, whole selves to a workplace where each person experiences a sense of belonging and support.
At Meriwest our approach to inclusion is 3-fold: 1) recruiting and retaining a diverse team; 2) increasing employee engagement through professional development and community outreach activities; 3) offering personal growth workshops and team-building opportunities. Our focus on diversity, equity and inclusion results in an environment that values every employee’s achievements and allows us to equitably meet every member’s banking and financial needs.
Our inclusive culture also extends to our members. We aspire to be a credit union where all members feel welcomed and accommodated, recognizing how this supports our promise to bring the best solutions and products to our members.
