Requesting Rate Lock

Loans are not automatically locked in upon receipt of the application package. You must contact a Meriwest Mortgage loan consultant in person or by telephone to lock in your rate. No rate lock requests will be accepted via email or by voicemail. You can lock in an interest rate and discounts points after you have:

  • Completed a loan application
  • Ensured that funds are available for the non-refundable application fee
  • If purchasing a home - supplied us with a fully executed Purchase and Sale Agreement on the property you wish to buy

Once these requirements are met, contact us in person or by telephone at 1-800-364-6636 or 408-578-5272 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. (PST) and 5:00 p.m. (PST) to request a rate lock.

A locked interest rate is guaranteed for 30 days with no fee. All loan approval conditions must be satisfied in a timely manner in order to allow Meriwest Mortgage adequate time to process and fund your loan within the lock period.


* The Annual Percentage Rate (APR) and Principal and Interest payments for owner-occupied first trust deeds in this disclosure are based on a $200,000 loan amount for conforming loans, $418,000 for jumbo ARM, $418,000 for high balance loans and $729,800 for jumbo fixed loans for the stated term including applicable points and customary closing costs.
